SA has got a rich history going back for centuries but all this is missing on this site. Centuries ago education, roads, cities, railways, shipping, farms, and industries, were being developed by colonialist; yes things that sustain us today and set us apart from the rest of Africa were started pre 1900. Our European forefathers knew what it takes to build a better life in Africa. In the process many of them lost their lives, or were financially crippled, but they persisted carving-out a place for their families and building the economy that is today uplifting millions of people in South Africa.
The timeline shown in http://www.sahistory.org.za/pages/library-resources/articles-docs.htm just covers black political development over the last few generations. These speeches, threats, and demands lack substance when taken over a longer timeline. The ANC still has to come up with the goods and earn a place in history.

Yes south africa does have a rich history – we are no different from that all of the rest of mankind. But what marks us and the rest of those countries subject to colonialism was that the colonialist no matter what their colour was marked by violence. The interaction exchange between colonialist and colonilised was not one of mutal exchange and respect but violence. The violence went just beyoun conquest and dispossion but a total denial of the culture and humanity of the colonialised.
Stanley the democratic deispensation in this country was built on the fact that all colonialists and colonilised are one under our new constitution
all citizens and have a constitution that protects their rights – no colonial or apartheid society accorded this right to people of colour.
Our website is open and non partisan but we dont make any apologies for our concentration of the history of the liberation/ freedom struggle which by the way involved people of all colour.
While our timeline does cover black political development let me assure you that we will cover the history of the white political formations and the white only colonial and Union and Apartheid governments.
South African History Online depended and welcome contribution from all and we invite you to assist us in developing a balanced view of our collective past.
